New Styles of 6'8" Doors Added to Rustic Collection

MAUMEE, Ohio (January 13, 2005) – With the growing popularity of Southwestern and European country architecture, Therma-Tru Doors'beautiful Classic-Craft® Rustic Collection™ complements these architectural styles with the look of naturally stained wood graining , authentic detailing and the exceptional performance of Therma-Tru fiberglass door systems.

The new Rustic Collection combines the look of fine-grain panels and arches with modern materials and technology to ensure lasting beauty and performance. The styling reflects the warm and inviting entryways of Tuscany and the American Southwest, with strong, simple lines and the look of hand-crafted quality.

Initially available in 8'heights and 3'and 3'6" widths for today's larger entryways, the Rustic Collection has been extremely popular in the western and southwestern states. In June 2004, Therma-Tru introduced a 6'8" door to meet demand from builders, architects, remodelers and homeowners. Now, two new 6'8" styles are available in the marketplace with four-panel and two-panel designs and arch and radius-top and full-lite, clear glass sidelites.

Developed by the R&D engineers at Therma-Tru's Advanced Technology Center using the company's unique and proprietary Classic-Craft technology, the Rustic style door system is more than just a pretty face – it delivers thermal performance and lasting durability that won't warp, crack, rot or split like real wood, especially important for the hot climates where these architectural styles are popular.

"The proprietary technology behind the Classic-Craft door allows Therma-Tru to create intricate real wood graining and detailing that no other manufacturer can produce," said John Kufner, Product Line General Manager, Entry Door Systems, for Therma-Tru Doors.

"We are constantly looking at new architectural styles and designs that meet the needs of builders, remodelers and homeowners," added Kufner. "The Rustic style is an excellent example of how we can integrate advanced materials and innovative manufacturing techniques with unique design to produce door systems that elevate the presence and performance of the home."

"A beautiful entryway can be one of a home's best features," said Kufner. "Therma-Tru and NFO Worldwide conducted research which found that an enhanced entryway can add as much as $24,000 to a home's perceived value, which is approximately five times the cost of the entry system. This new door system can give a home a custom look with greater curb appeal and an excellent return on investment."
