Therma-Tru® Doors Introduces its Fiber-Classic® Mahogany Collection™

Maumee, OHIO, (July 6, 2009) - Timeless styles and a rich mahogany finish come together to create the new Fiber-Classic Mahogany Collection from Therma-Tru. Using technology once reserved for Therma-Tru’s most expensive lines, the Fiber-Classic Mahogany Collection replicates the graining of warm mahogany hardwood, but with all of the cost advantages of the Fiber-Classic line.

As the trend for home interiors moves toward darker, richer wood tones in everything from cabinets to furniture, the Fiber-Classic Mahogany Collection, with its deep, welcoming color, allows homeowners to extend this look to their exterior entrances, creating a cohesive look throughout the home. Lovers of Craftsman, bungalow, arts and crafts and mission style architecture will find this new offering to be the perfect complement to homes and interior furnishings. With its simple, straightforward lines and many fine architectural details, these door styles evoke the timeless styles of today’s most popular styles of architecture.

The Fiber-Classic Mahogany Collection is available in several craftsman styles with the new Brookside decorative glass, Sedona Art and Saratoga glass designs, or clear Low-e glass. The collection also offers additional architectural door styles and sidelite combinations, including 3-panel scroll, 6-panel and 8-panel Center Arch styles available with Blackstone, Sedona, Salinas and Wellesley decorative glass designs.

Fiber-Classic Mahogany Collection doors contain composite top and bottom rails for increased rot resistance, and include LVL stiles to improve the overall structural integrity. Solid engineered lock blocks offer added strength and increased security. In addition, opaque door styles with a high-performance core are available as a 20-minute Positive Pressure fire door. Therma-Tru’s Fiber-Classic Mahogany Collection maintains all of the benefits of fiberglass with a Limited Lifetime Full System Guarantee.

Constructed of durable fiberglass, each Fiber-Classic Mahogany door is ENERGY STAR qualified and provides five times the insulation of a wood door and won’t rot, split, crack or rot like wood, or rust, dent or ding like steel.

The doors also are certified by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC), helping homeowners save money on energy costs, and protect the environment through superior energy efficiency. In fact, the average R-value (measure of thermal resistance) of a Therma-Tru fiberglass door is almost as insulating as the wall of an average home.

In addition to saving on energy costs, homeowners who purchase and install certain styles of the Fiber-Classic Mahogany doors may be eligible for a tax credit of up to $1,500 per household through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (also known as the Economic Stimulus package). And since almost all styles in the collection qualify for a $1500 tax credit, the right door makes more of a difference than ever.
