Multi-Point Lock

General

Can I get the multi-point locking system (MPLS) on any door configuration, including outswing? The MPLS is available on most configurations, except steel doors. For product availability, contact your local Therma-Tru dealer.

What is the difference between the tongue and shootbolt multi-point locking system (MPLS)? The tongue MPLS locks a single door into the jamb or mull post. The shootbolt MPLS locks the passive door into the astragal on a double door system.

I have a single door with a shootbolt. Is this correct? The shootbolt multi-point locking system is recommended for double door systems but can be used on a single door system.

What type of hardware is on the vented sidelites multi-point locking system (MPLS)? The vented sidelites come standard with an MPLS similar to that used for entry and patio door systems.

What finish options are available for Therma-Tru multi-point locking system (MPLS) handlesets? We offer the following MPLS handleset finish options: Bright Brass (US3), Antique Brass (US5), Brushed Nickel (US15), Black Nickel (US17A), Antique Nickel (US15A), Polished Chrome (US26) and Oil-Rubbed Bronze (US10B). White is available for narrow handlesets only. For product availability, contact your local Therma-Tru dealer. (Note: US designations are for general finish color reference only.)

Can I order two different handleset finishes for one multi-point locking system (MPLS)? The handlesets ship with one finish color per box. To get two finishes for one MPLS, you will need to order two complete handlesets. For product availability, contact your local Therma-Tru dealer.

What are the finish colors on the multi-point locking system (MPLS) cylinders? The MPLS cylinder finishes are the same as the handlesets.

Installation & Maintenance

Can I rekey so all my multi-point locking systems (MPLS) are the same? Yes. However, we recommend that any rekeying is done by a locksmith. You can order the MPLS keyed alike or rekey the cylinder by following the Rekeying of Cylinders section of the Installation Instructions for MPLS.

Does your multi-point locking system (MPLS) use a 5- or 6-pin cylinder? Our MPLS uses a 5-pin cylinder. However, your locksmith can rekey the cylinder to a 6-pin using an SC4 blank.

My locksmith said I need special pins to rekey my multi-point locking system (MPLS). Do you have a conversion chart for the pins? For rekeying instructions and a conversion chart, follow the Installation Instructions for MPLS.

How do I get extra keys for my Therma-Tru multi-point locking system (MPLS)? You can have your MPLS key rekeyed to any C keyway. Some well-known key blanks are CES, Schlage, Ace and Axxess.

Do you offer a double, or security, keyed cylinder? No.
