Love this DoorI bought the Therma Tru Fiber Classic door unfinished from Wilke Window and Door. Wilke stained it the color I picked from them which is Brown Mahogany. The finish is beautiful.
It is airtight and way more energy efficient than my old door.
I am so happy.

I'm SO disappointedI felt like I did a ton of research, went to see doors in person, really put effort into finding a new front entry door that would last and look good. The price for the factory finish vs unfinished was a lot. After reading some reviews I felt that the factory finish wasn't worth the extra cost. I work for a GC in a high end market and have some great resources for paint/stain etc. My painter/stainer has had the WORST time finishing this product with the specified gel stain that Thermatru recommends. Had I known what a disaster this was going to be I wouldn't have ordered a Thermatru door. ALSO, they fail to mention on the prehung doors that the other visible parts of the door are plastic and don't even have the same grain as the door. I'm so unhappy with the door but what can you do after you've spent $$$ and installed it already. One point for an easy install and it's quite heavy.

Great for the price paid. All the other reviews clearly have contractor problems more so than product problems so I'm here because the star rating is not accurate and it's a shame to see people misplace blame. The fiber classic line is great for the money and performs as claimed. The other reviews are salty because the door was improperly finished and they don't know it. We've installed countless of these doors, stained in the field and have no issues ourselves or from customers.

CheesyLooks like a typical grandma style door, you can do better at Lowe's, though less selection at both stores.

Love these doorsI've had my 2 exterior Mahogany Fiber Classic doors in Raven now for 3 years and have had NO issues. No pealing, so chipping nothing! I had mud on my one entry door from my kids kicking at the door with muddy boots and it washed right off. Planning on purchasing 3 more doors for our remodel addition project.

No stain on door.I ordered and received a Therma-Tru Fiberglass Door from the Fiber-Classic Mahogany Collection, FCM 1650. Good looking door, it was installed 2 days ago. NO stain on the door, period. When I looked at the Therma-Tru brochure/catalog, picking out a door with the type of glass insert, every picture shown to me was of a door with what appeared to be a Mahogany stain, (Mahogany collection?) salesman NEVER pointed out that if I wanted that color, I would need to order that as a option. I did not know that. After the door was installed, went back to take another look at this catalog, could really find no mention of it hidden anywhere. I am not a builder or hardware salesman, but I guess I should have somehow KNOWN Mahogany color did not come with the Mahogany collection, had I been aware of it, I would have ordered. Having said that, after reading reviews about the finish stain from Therma-Tru, I just may have dodged a bullet. I have since learned that the best method of stain is gel-stain for "fiberglass" doors, they do not use the gel type for their stains, at least for their 24 hour do it yourself kit, perhaps not at the factoty either. Still, it IS a good looking door. The door itself was a single pre-hung door. Problem was that the "Pre-Hung" part framong the door was NOT square, meaning that the bottom was wider than the top. My contractor guy realized it, had to take it apart in the drive way, trim and re-assemble. Should not have happened, a guy with lesser experience or a do-it-your-selfer, may have had one big headache. That's on the factory. For the stain? or lack of. That is more on the seller, Diamond hardware in Grants Pass here, although Therma-Tru could do a little better in printed material, I find now it far more clear online. All in all, lucky I had a contractor with the experience and know how, and may be better off buying a better stain, topcoat ect. and having it done. That' all folks.

Wooden Rails RottedA contractor bought this door for my house. About 10 years after it was installed the wood rail on the side rotted out. I painted the entire door three times but when I asked for a replacement, they said the rails weren't painted. The wood was rotten and all the paint fell off.
